Volobuev Evgeniy Vsevolodovich
Volobuev Evgeniy Vsevolodovich – was born on 17th of July, 1912 in Varvarivka village, Kharkiv region. Ukrainian painter, author of landscapes, still life, genre paintings. He studied at Kharkiv Art College, Kharkiv Art Institute and Kyiv Art Institute. Mentors: M. Arshinov, M. Sharonov, F. Krichevsky, D. Shavikin, I. Pleschinsky, S. Gerasimov. Since 1938 he participated in regional, republican (1947), all-union (1955) exhibitions. Personal exhibition took place in Kyiv in 1968. Since 1940 – Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1963 – Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. Since 1995 – National Artist of Ukraine. He was a mentor at the Kyiv art school. Major works: “Spring” (1949), “The Garden Bloomed” (1951), “Still Life” (1954), “On a Livestock Farm” (1957), “On the Dnieper” (1960), “Strawberries and Chanterelles” (1963), “From the Past” (1964), “Invasion” (1977), “Ice Floating” (1987), “To the People” (1987), “When People Are Defenseless” (1990), “Sparrows” (1994), “The Old Garden (1994) and others. Works are stored in the National Art Museum, Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum, Lugansk Art Museum, Kharkiv Art Museum. He lived and worked in the Kyiv. The artist died on 2nd of February, 2002.
