Styl Leonid Mikhailovich
Styl Leonid Mikhailovich – was born on November 4, 1921 in Lebedin, Sumy region. Studied at the Kharkiv Art Institute (1945-1947). Graduated from the I. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the USSR Academy of Arts (1953). Teachers: S. Besedin, I. Deitz, O. Kokel, V. Meshkov, R. Franz. Master of thematic paintings on historical subjects. He worked in the field of easel painting and book graphics. He was a representative of alternative trends in Ukrainian art (1960s). He took part in republican (since 1954), all-Union (since 1953), personal (since 1960) exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Founder and first director of the Balashikha Picture Gallery (1976-1986). Major works: "Defend the World" (1953); "Komsomolets" (1957); "Leninists" (1958); "Komsomol unit of society" (1960); "Earth" (1962-1967) and others. The artist died in 1999 in Los Angeles.
