Pstrak Yaroslav Vasilyevich

(1878 – 1916)

Pstrak Yaroslav Vasilyevich – was born on 24th of March 24, 1878 in Gvozdets village. Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. In 1895, with the help of patrons, a talented young man went to study at Munich Academy of Arts. Having graduated in 1899, the artist returned to Lviv. In 1901 the artist traveled to Western Europe, where he met with the European art world. Returning to the homeland, Pstrak finally settled in Lviv. Here he made a lot of portraits of local intelligentsia. At the end of 1915 he moved to Kharkiv for treatment. The artist died on 16th of March, 1916 in Kharkiv.
