Pirogov Victor Volodymirovich
Pirogov Victor Volodymirovich – was born on 27th of November, 1920 in Baku. He studied at the Baku Art College from 1947 to 1951. He graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute in 1957. Mentors: K. Trohimenko, V. Kostetsky, I. Shtilman, M. Khmelko. He worked in the industry of easel painting. Member of World War II. He took part in republican and all-Union exhibitions since 1956. Member of the National Union of Artists since 1967. Since 1979, he worked as secretary of the Vinnitsa branch of the National Union of Artists. Landscape painter, portrait painter, author of genre paintings. The works are stored in the Vinnitsa Art Museum, other public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and medals. Major works: “On the Collective Bazaar” (1961); “T.G. Shevchenko in the workshop” (1964); “On the Ruins of Werewolf” (1965); “Initiation into the working class” (1967); “The Sower” (1968) and others. He lived and worked in Vinnitsa. The artist died in 1993.
