Magmedov Georgy Ivanovich
Magmedov Georgy Ivanovich – was born on 6th of May, 1921, in the Sochi city, Russia. He studied at the Kharkiv State Art School. Mentors: V. Kobrinsky, M. Deregus. Author of figurative paintings on historical themes, portraits, landscapes in a realistic style with elements of impressionism. Since 1996 – Honored Artist of Ukraine. Since 1957 – Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1947 he participated in republican, Ukrainian, all-Union and international exhibitions. Solo exhibitions were held in Kharkiv in 1972 and 1991. Major works: “Evening” (1960), “T. Shevchenko among Polish friends” (1961), “Adzhimushkay 1941” (1963), “Girl” (1973), “Girl in Red” (1974), “My destiny, destiny” (1993). Paintings are represented in the Kharkiv Art Museum, the national museum of T. Shevchenko in Kyiv. Artist lived and worked in Kharkiv. The artist died in 2001.
