Nowakowska-Acedanska Irena
Nowakowska-Acedanska Irena – was born on 15th of December, 1909 in Lviv. From 1927 to 1932 she studied at Decorative and Applied Arts Department of the Lviv Art and Industrial School. Mentors: Kazimir Sikhulsky, Ludvik Tirovich. From 1933 to 1934 she worked on the Ancient Lviv cycle. In 1934, on the graphic cycle "Grodeka Jagiellonian" (Gorodok., Lviv region). Since 1935 – a member of the Union of Lviv Charts. In 1935, together with her husband, the artist Zygmunt Acedansky created a series of prints "Zhovkva" (Lviv region). Since 1936, a member of the "Krakov Graphic Society". Since 1937, a member of the Lviv Professional Union of Plastic Artists (LZZAP). In 1937 she created the graphic cycle "Kremenets" (Ternopil region). In 1945, she moved with her husband Sigmund Acedansky to Poland in Tarnow, in 1946 to Gliwice. The artist’s creative manner was manifested in prints (décor and lorinite), emphasizing the filigree and grace of technology. Irena Nowakowska-Acedanska specialized in easel painting (architectural landscapes, still life), painted architectural, historical monuments, details of old houses from nature of Galicia with watercolors, gouache and ink. The artist died on 14th of February, 1983 in Gliwice, Poland.
