Holomenuk Ivan Olexandrovich
Holomenuk Ivan Olexandrovich – was born on 14th of October 1926 in the Mizinivka village, Cherkasy region. He studied at the Kyiv Art Institute, and then at Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. Mentors: Grigoriev S., Yablonskaya T., Erzhikovskiy S., Bokshay I., Shcherbatenko Yu. Since 1955 he takes part in regional, republican, all-Union and in international exhibitions. Since 1965 – a Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1962 - Chairman of the Board of the Chernivtsi Regional Organization of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He headed the organization 20 years. Since 1970 – Honored Artist of Ukraine. Since 1996 – National Artist of Ukraine. Major works: "Тaras Shevchenko at the stage" (1961); "Loggers" (1963); "Cymbalists" (1965); "The Internationale" (1967); "Hotintsy" (1968); "Oprichniks" (1969 - 1970) and others. The artist`s works are represented in many museum and private collections both in Ukraine and abroad. The artist died on 22nd of April 2008.
