Bortnikov Nikolay Fedorovich
Bortnikov Nikolay Fedorovich – was born on January 16, 1916 in the Almaty city, Kazakhstan. Graduated from the Tashkent Art College (1936) and the V.I.Surikov Moscow Art Institute (1950). Teachers: A. Bondarovich, G. Ryazhsky, D. Mochalsky, K. Maksimov. He worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. Many paintings are dedicated to the theme of the War War II. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (1950). Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of Crimea (1951-1954). Member of the Board of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (1968-1972). He taught at the Simferopol Art School (1950-1953). Director of the Simferopol Art School (1950-1952). Participated in republican and all-union (1954) exhibitions. Personal in the Simferopol city (1972, 1987). Major works: "Spring 1944" (1967), "Echelons are coming" (1985), "A. Lesin" (1978), "Spring Coast" (1965), "Polar Night" (1974), "Fortress in Sudak" (1981), "May Morning" (1983), "Old Pier" (1985), "Bread" (1971). The works are kept in the Simferopol Art Museum, Sevastopol Art Museum, Bakhchisarai Art Museum, Alupka Art Museum and museums in Kyiv. Lived and worked in the Simferopol city. The artist died on March 20, 1997.
