Belsky Mykhaylo Gavrilovich
Belsky Mykhaylo Gavrilovich – was born on 21st of October, 1922, in the Orel region, Russia. He studied at the Kyiv Art Institute. Mentors: K. Sleva, I. Shtilman, V. Kostetsky, S. Grigoriev. He worked in the easel painting industry. He was the representative of socialist realism, focused on the worker’s life depicting. Since 1970 – Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. Since 1978 – National Artist of the USSR. He was awarded a diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR. Chairman of the Board of the Art Fund of Ukraine Since 1965 till 1969. Since 1951 he took part in republican, foreign and all-Union exhibitions. The main works: "Sister" (1957); "Working morning" (1960); "The earth is free" (1963 - 1964); "Falcons" (1964 - 1965); "Metallurgists of Donbass" (1969); "Flowers to the winners" (1976); "For the sake of life" (1984); "Memory" (1988); and others. The works are represented in many museums of Ukraine. The artist died on 20th of May, 1994.
