Beklemisheva Iryna Mykhaylivna
Beklemisheva Iryna Mykhaylivna – was born on 7th of April, 1908 in Nizhyn city, Chernihiv region. She studied at Kyiv Art Institute. She worked in the field of easel painting, thematic paintings and landscapes. She was a member of Ukrainian Artists Union. Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR. She participated in republican, Union, foreign and personal (Chernivtsi and Kyiv) exhibitions. The most famous works of the artist are “The ironers”, “The Laundress”, “Jobless in the West”, “Twilight”, “Autumn”, “Blossoming Apple tree”, “Spring in Bukovina”, “Carpathian Spring”, series of Bukovina landscapes and others. The works are exhibited in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, as well as in the Kharkov and Chernigiv Art Museum. The artist died on 18th of March, 1988 in Kyiv.
